OFF-THE-WALLS
OBJECTIVE
Sometimes when I hear a song, I immediately start seeing things in action. The music guides the movements in my mind, the beat, the instruments, the dialogue, and I can see exactly how I want the motion to unfold. The first song that made me think, “oh my god a skate edit must be made”, was Primer 55’s “Loose.” Other songs I plan to use include the first 35 seconds of Public Enemy’s “Time Bomb” and the first 14 seconds of Skatenigs’ “LoudSpeaker.”

DESIGN PROCESS
- For my first project, I sourced a collection of free clips from Pexels and applied my pattern recognition skills to piece them together. I looked for common elements like position, lighting, and movement, to create seamless match cuts that make seemingly random clips feel connected. I handled color grading, editing in Premiere Pro, and timed the cuts to the beat of the music for the video to look how the music feels. For the upcoming projects, I will be filming the content myself.
