DICHOTOMY IN LOVE
︎OBJECTIVE:
This is a personal project I wanted to pursue to combine my writing and photographs. The text and image work together to navigate love through dichotomy, inviting viewers to contemplate its many dimensions.
︎DESIGN PROCESS:
I chose my black and white photographs to allow viewers to focus on the subject of each photo without the distraction of colors. The addition of a pop of red serves as a symbol of love, but when juxtaposed with the black and white images, it creates a sinister and dark ambiance, aligning with the theme of contrast. I also wanted to experiment with the interaction between text and still images, exploring how the arrangement of words within the composition could enhance the visual impact. Lastly, the choice to present these designs in the format of a book is to allow the images to express a narrative that unfolds as the viewer flips through the pages.
